The transition to TOMM is in full swing, and to ensure the migration goes as smoothly as possible, we are running pilot schemes. We are closely monitoring the process and optimising TOMM where necessary, so that the phased roll-out goes as smoothly as possible for all our customers. The first campsite to start using TOMM was Camping Roland. In the article, park manager Nik talks about his experiences with the transition from Tommy 2.0 and how he finds the new system in practice. 'Our first experience with TOMM. has been very positive. It’s a straightforward system. It’s great that the user experience has changed only slightly compared to Tommy. That meant we were able to get started with TOMM. straight away.'

A few smart features have been added. For example, the dashboard shows you straight away how busy the coming week will be in terms of arrivals and departures. It’s also very easy to set up pricing periods. That will save a lot of time when preparing for the next season.

Finally, the optimisation of the booking calendar is a major improvement, ensuring that bookings are placed more logically within the calendar. TOMM. now looks for the most optimal slot, leaving more space for other potential bookings, whereas Tommy 2.0 looked for the next available slot. As a result, our online offering is becoming more up-to-date and better suited to guests’ needs, and we expect this to lead to even more online bookings. We’ll see exactly how this plays out over the coming year, but we at Camping Roland are approaching it with great confidence!’

'In early January, we became the first holiday park in the Netherlands to switch to Tomm. Naturally, we at Camping Roland were very honoured to have been chosen to take the plunge.'

After some remote preparations, the big day finally arrived on 7 January. After a first cup of coffee (of many) and a delicious pastry provided by Tommy Booking Support, we got down to work. It soon became clear that all the information had been included, and we tested all the links.

We then got down to work, just as we would on a ‘normal’ day, and Tomm was put through its paces. As expected, you always come across teething problems or issues that don’t quite work as you’d hoped beforehand. However, we were fortunate that a team was on hand to tackle these shortcomings straight away. We received excellent support throughout this process, with Marijke as our point of contact, to put the finishing touches to Tomm together. The key functionality issues were addressed straight away and, where possible, we were provided with a temporary workaround to get round the problem.

To this day, we still come across minor issues that aren’t quite working as they should, but these are being addressed and we’re receiving a lot of feedback about them. All in all, we can look back on a successful collaboration and we’re proud that Tommy Booking Support and Camping Roland were able to work together to launch Tomm. We’re therefore looking forward to continuing our successful collaboration in the years to come!'
